Collaborations

Swiss Network for Dementia Research

The Swiss Network for Dementia Research was founded in 2023 by Dementia Research Switzerland – Synapsis Foundation.

It connects experts in neurodegenerative diseases across disciplines and institutions throughout Switzerland. It is based on the belief that pooling resources and promoting interdisciplinary knowledge exchange will drive innovation in dementia research and care. The network aims to bridge gaps in research and practice by fostering collaboration.

The Dementia Community Platform is a centralized hub for dementia research and care in Switzerland. It offers an overview of experts, ongoing projects, current initiatives, and available job and funding opportunities, along with information on upcoming events. The platform also serves as a resource hub, bringing together tools and services, such as biosamples, animal models and diagnostic tools.

3RCC - Swiss 3R Competence Centre

The Swiss 3R Competence Centre (3RCC) promotes the 3Rs principle (replacement, reduction and refinement of animal experimentation) among the scientific community and the public. To facilitate the development and implementation of effective 3R methods and improve animal welfare it challenges research paradigms and creates innovative alternatives to animal use.

The 3RCC drives the advancement of the 3Rs Principle in Switzerland through activities, which improve welfare for animals in research and promote better science. The 3RCC envisions a new era in which replacement, reduction and refinement are consistently implemented to minimise the use of animals and the harm imposed on them, thereby promoting scientifically valid and ethically responsible research. The Centre aspires to be the leading source in Switzerland for information on the 3Rs and its implementation in all research areas.
