Biophysics Week

Biophysics Week is an annual event. It started on 2016 to celebrate and raise awareness of the field.

Our new LS2 Biophysics Section  participates at the Biophysics Week 2020 of the Biophysical Society as Affiliate Event organizer. During that week, different activities will take part at EPFL .

Prof. Claus Siedel (single-molecule FRET pioneer) from Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf will visit the Institute of Bioengineering in Laussane.

Prelimiray program:

  • Monday, March 23th:
    • Lecture from Prof. Claus Siedel for students enrolled in Master in Life science Engineerings. Prof. Claus Siedel will introduce single-molecule tools in Biophysics (room INM10).
    • 12:00 h. The lecture will be followed by an informal lunch for 15 participants where at EPFL Espace Copernic Restaurant (please register here).
  • Tuesday, March 24th:
    •         12:00 - 14:00 h: Working lunch with Prof. Claus Siedel. 15 flash presentations (5 minutes) from PhD students. Room SV 3510 (please register here)
    •         14:00 - 15.00 h: Research talk. Room SV 1717.
  •          Friday, March 27th: To end the Biophysics Week 2020, the board of the LS2 Biophysics Section will have a meet up on , with faculty members and postdocs to discuss relevant scientific results in the field.
